We look up your business on Google Maps to find its Place ID, and store nothing about it. Not affiliated with Google.

How the link works

Every place on Google Maps has a Place ID. Google documents a link built from that ID that opens the review form directly, so a customer doesn't have to search for you first. This tool looks up your Place ID and builds that link.

Customers need to be signed in to a Google account to leave a review. If they aren't, Google asks them to sign in first.

Google also lets you get a review link and QR code from your own Business Profile. Both open the same review form; this one works without logging in to your profile.

Where to use your review link

  • In the email or text message you send after a job or an order
  • On your invoice or receipt
  • As a QR code on a card at the till, on the menu or by the door
  • In your email signature and on the contact page of your website

What Google allows when you ask for reviews

Google's Maps content policy says a business may not:

  • offer anything in return for a review, like money, a discount or something free
  • ask only happy customers for a review, or discourage negative reviews
  • require or pressure customers to leave a review while they are still at your business

So ask every customer the same way and let them decide. A QR code on the counter is fine. Waiting next to someone until they post is not.

Do reviews help your Google Maps rank?

Google says they can. In its help page on local ranking, Google names three factors: relevance, distance and prominence. On prominence it writes that more reviews and positive ratings can help a business rank locally.

Distance means your rank changes from street to street. To see where you show up and where a competitor takes your place, use our free Google Maps rank checker. It checks your rank from 25 points around your business.

Nobody can promise you a ranking, and neither do we.
